VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROJECT

Our scheme of education is rehabilitation based, with the aim to make these special children self supporting in their future life. To serve this purpose, the following training projects are successfully being implemented.

1. Computer & Typing Technology We are cognizance of the importance of training in use of computers for our special children so that they can fit in and be gainfully employed in today's work environment. The computer training facilities were established through generous contributions made by the Pro-Victims Foundation, Geneva, the Infaq Foundation and Al-Tahir Islamic Foundation. Presently our Computer Department is equipped with five new computers, Index Braille Printer, Speech Synthesizer and Overhead Projector.

2. Tailoring & Embroidery Expertise in tailoring and allied skills are not only a source of good income but also help make a home. Ida Rieu has a full fledged tailoring section imparting training in cutting, sewing and embroidery. Incidentally tailoring is a compulsory subject for all of our deaf children.

3. Cane Work Our visually impaired children excel in this skill which is both a source of income and is therapeutic.

4. Book Binding The book binding workshop is sponsored by the Inner Wheel Club. Training in this field provides job opportunities in the printing and publishing field.

5. Clay Molding Our children enjoy clay molding and it helps develop their orientation and faculties.
